WE TAKE SUSTAINABILITY TO THE NEXT LEVEL

WE TAKE SUSTAINABILITY TO THE NEXT LEVEL BY USING 100% RECYCLED POLYETHYLENE IN THE MANUFACTURE OF CPX STANDARD PRODUCTS

One of our most significant sustainability issues concerns the use of materials and waste management. Our processes support a circular economy where the extraction of natural resources is minimized by recycling materials and reusing them for new products. In this way, less raw material is consumed while the amount of waste is reduced.

OUR OWN RECYCLING

We have invested in both equipment and knowledge to recycle the waste material into new plastic raw material that is now used in our own production. We have been involved in running Nordic Plastic Recycling (NPR) for several years. Recycled materials of sufficiently good quality are still in short supply, which is why we invest in our own recycling facilities to ensure the availability of materials.

As part of the continued sustainability work, all extension necks for CPX underground tanks are now manufactured in 100% recycled polyethylene. The properties of the material are so good that we do not have to compromise on the quality of the products. This is the first CPX product to be made from 100% recycled as standard and we will continue with more products as the availability of recycled materials increases. Recycled materials have been used successfully in several customer-specific projects for several years.

THE VALUE OF PLASTIC RECYCLING

When we use 1 kg of virgin polyethylene (PE) in the manufacture of plastic products, almost 2 kg of carbon dioxide emissions is generated. If we recycle the material and use it again, the amount of emissions are reduced by half.

Through smart production methods, we can reduce the amount of used material and increase the energy efficiency. In addition, if the products are designed in a way that makes them easy to collect, sort and recover, the total emount of emissions of greenhouse gases are further minimized.
