Sodium chloride

Sodium chloride
CAS: 7647-14-5
Chemical formula: NaCl
Synonyms: Table salt, salt, brine.
Resistance: +20°C= suitable, +60°C= suitable
Density: Depending on the salt concentration, AKA salinity 1.1-2.16kg/dm³

Usage

Sodium chloride is used in the food industry as a flavouring agent or to melt ice, but is also a basic raw material in most processes in the chemical industry.
A solution with sodium chloride becomes an electrolyte that accelerates the corrosion of metals. This can be avoided with a CPX tank or container that is made of PE plastic that will not rust.

Storage - Sodium chloride

Sodium chloride can be stored concentrated or dissolved in water in all CPX containers and tanks. NaCl does not react to UV, so unless there are special reasons, we recommend natural coloured tanks as these are transparent in order to be able to see the contents.

As the content of the products is beyond our control, we cannot take responsibility for changes in their composition.

Pipes

PE, PP, PVC

Gaskets

EPDM rubber

NB

Chlorine and chlorine gas can be formed in various processes with sodium chloride. These substances are harmful to health and can affect the life of the tank or container.
Check the density against what the tank/container is designed for.
